A unique European city
We didn’t know what to expect in Bucharest. We only booked to stay a couple of days and glad we did. Having arrived at the hotel, we headed to a nearby pub for a drink and to get somewhat familiar with our surroundings. We decided to do a walking tour the next morning and oh boy, we were both glad we did.
From the outside, Bucharest looks like a conglomeration of different styles from the garish Palace of Parliament to the Parisian style avenues and fountains to brutalist architecture of apartment blocks. Once you understood its history though, it made sense.
